"This dress was the first actual wedding dresses that I tried on," Weiner explains, "I fell in like with the lace, I was just possessed by it. I thought it was so romantic, and the shade was so soft and beautiful...everything I tried on after that just could not live up to it." I knew I always wanted to get married with long sleeves and a higher neck, but once I started trying on gowns.

I realized that that didn't exist in the form that I wanted so I was able to work out this extra piece that integrated perfectly into the dress. We were able to build that together, which was perfect, to be able to get the right height and the right feeling for it. "The other major change was the shape of the skirt and pant. I needed something that felt a little softer and more tender, so we made the original mermaid shapeless fitted.

"It was part of the wedding dresses 2016 collection I tried on, it was the same lace, and share of what drew me to Vera Wang and drew me to that dress. I liked the lace and loved the veil so much that there was nothing else that could beat that.
